So I donโ€™t know if this is irony a test or just Godโ€™s sense of humour in overdrive. In any case I have no idea how to respond.

I had wanted to go fishing on a friend of a friendโ€™s commercial fishing boat last summer when everything was in chaos. However, he was already out to sea.

I just got a text and a call asking:

โ€œErik, still want to join a commercial fishing team? My buddy appears to have an openingโ€

God finally has me in the fishing for souls business and the devil would rather I go fishing for food and profit

And it occurs to me that the North Pacific is about the same distance from Winnipeg as Tarshish is from Nineveh, some 4000km.

And for some reason I donโ€™t like the idea of running away from good and going fishing. For one thing, there is very little dry land in the North Pacific for a fish to spit me out on. Unless we were fishing closer to Hawaii. The distance from Winnipeg to Honolulu is about 4050 km.

I think the answer need no response. Itโ€™s just a yikes that could be a years pay in a few months. I am done with running the other way from where God has called me.

AND NOW I AM FULLY COMMITTED - I told my buddy I canโ€™t do it.
